I like correspondence chess, because I love researching the different openings: the history; the reasons behind the moves; should I play this line or that line?; possible traps; what are GM's playing now and why. I can't think of anything else right now, but I'm sure I've forgotten some things.

I also like playing artistic games where all the moves just flow together. Without THAT move, THIS move would have never worked. The type of games that were played in the romantic era, I guess. But overall, I'm playing much more competent players now, and the opportunity just doesn't present itself any more.

And finally, keeping my mind sharp is an added benefit!

I believe Zhuxi translates as 'breathing'? Sir, you have misread the question; it was asking about chess, not chest.

For myself, the usual reason I come here is because there is something else I ought to be doing.

Zhuxí - if you use the literal translation then ideal for a chess players usual position😉

I dunno perhaps minister of state for the excheckers or perhaps something more vital like the role of kingmaker.

so, not for the fame and television appearances? i was really hoping you would appear on "Hot Ones" with Sean Evans

Sorry to disappoint you, but fame is a burden I don't wish to carry. Quiet nights out are impossible. Forget about privacy. I have enough fame within the chess community the way it is. People who really understand and appreciate how special my gifts are. I don't care for spicy food anyway. 😎
