Russell Enterprises has recently converted these two titles to algebraic notation, for those that don't like descriptive notation. They've converted several old classics. One I would suggest is 'The art of checkmate' by Georges Renaud & Victor Kahn. I used it to help me set several puzzles on the site.

I like tactics/combinations and think they have been good for my game..(1) Tactics Time (1 & 2) (2) Reinfeld's Classics= "1001 Winning Chess Combinations" and "1001 Brilliant Ways to Checkmate" (solutions in descriptive notation)....of course this site as well as others offer excellent chess puzzles taken from actual games
