No Probs Reyn, I know your point is very valid.

I will always get down and dirty with you 24 Mavericks when my own dance card is slow as you know.

In fact the Christmas Holidays is always a good time to relax and drop a couple of hundred rating points or so!

I shall send you an invite.

Need to find a certain Legendary Cowboy though first for our traditional Christmas shoot out. Rumour has it it takes him 7 days to get out of bed and get his boots on this days. Let alone play chess!

We shall see :-co😊

No, this is not what I'm mentioning. I doubt you would do this with each and every move anyways. Also, your game load is reasonable, not like the 200-300 games the individuals have to which I am referring to.

And, by the way, I'm not even saying that a player is not allowed to do this. Of course they can. I'm just reporting the experience.

I'm saying this is among the reasons why I do what I do. It is also the reason why I avoid some players on this site and why I resign from some games.

[shrug]

Guilty as charged. I will 'park' games with longer time limits when I need time to think. That is why I play longer time limits these days though!}

With some players it wouldn't matter what pace they play at, because they make it a habit to play their longer paced games in the final hours, with each and every move. :-icky

This is why some of us prefer the quicker games, as some opponents can only spin it out for so long, rather than 9 days.

Also, the players that tend to do this are the ones that have the bigger game loads. Don't ask me why, but I've checked this against the ones that manage their game loads in this fashion.

Yes, a lot of us, including me, have made that mistake!

I now prefer to have no more than 20-25 games as a maximum.

And especially, don't take on a lot of 1-day-a-move games, unless you can guarantee that you'll be able to keep up!
