Stefanie_TNThe relatively low annual fee is the deciding factor for me. I play a lot of OTB chess, so I'm not willing to pay too much for online chess, be it live or correspondence.

ReynIn my opinion, ChessWorld is already the leader server-based chess. It's important to stay on the cutting edge though and make sure you're ahead of the competition. We should always think of ideas that will keep us that way.

dailylamaThis site is an incredible live study course....if I want to practice 10 simultaneous sicilians to learn some of the paths each early path change leads to I can do it here. And over and over here until i feel extremely confident at least thru midgame. And if I want to study endgames I can have enough games at the stage of endgame to spend most of the day buried in live endgame practice. From the intense new experiments of the young chess players to the book chess of the old (me at least), this site seems to have the answers. It is a site where not improving my game is impossible.

DR. JohnLGreat job!!! I stumbled upon your site looking for a new forum to play chess. Immediately after registering, I was invited to play several games by full members. After seeing the endless options as I browsed through the site, I had to become a member! I don't know how you do it, but keep up the good work! Long live ChessWorld.net!!!!!!!!!!

Viscount NasebyI've made ChessWorld.net my homepage, and I'm here almost every day. I love the many features, and especially like that, unlike real-time chess, I'm not obligated to sit out a whole game at once. With that said, however, I think the biggest improvement you could make for now is a real-time feature. Great site, great features, keep up the good work!

poolkingThere are many benefits on the list but I would like to say this is a great site for people who enjoy the game of chess. I could be wrong, but I haven't heard of any chess leagues(LIVE) in my little area of the world(except for high school leagues and I am a bit to old for that). This site is awesome because you can play a different person every three or four minutes, instead of waiting to play the few people you know who enjoy the game every three or four months, years, decades, etc. My hats off to Kingscrusher and everyone else who has made this site successful. I know for the $15.00 a year I pay to be a member of this site, It is the best $15.00 I will ever spend for 365 days of happiness.

jfsThe ability to play many games simultaneously, differentiates this Site. I like that. I wanted to play rated games and only members have the option in choosing their opponents. Good tactic! Price = good value at this time. E-mail driven, nice feature.

Bobs- Best site of this nature - hands down. I play on 3 other simmiliar sites and they don't compare. - The best thing about this site is that there are never any access problems. - Most of the features are probably a waste of effort as most players probably only use a few of them. - The silliest thing about the site is the whining about the rating system. The whiners can be divided into 2 general groups - those who don't understand the concept and those who want to achieve high ratings by always playing and beating weaker players. - The worst thing about the site is the high number of people who repeatly time out and that there is no penalty for this, they can keep starting new games.  DingbatThat was a fairly naff selection to choose ONE from :-) I appreciate the fact that Chessworld.net doesn't try to sell me anything (banners, pop-ups, inappropriate whizzy graphics, etc). Also, there is a genuine community of peers. It's a pleasure to belong.

Tommy CI was initially reluctant to pay the joining fee. On reflection, this site does offer a service so it's hardly outrageous to ask a fee; in cyberspace, we've all got too used to getting everything for free. ChessWorld.net is a great chess site and well worth the tenner joining fee.

cbordianI enjoy your web site a lot. I tried a couple of others but they really were not as good. That said, here are two requests that you probably hear all the time (even though it looks like you got the play-through game software elsewhere). The Java play through feature should: a. Show captured pieces b. Remove en pessant-captured pawns from the board!

Trash TalkerI would like to see a reduction in the number of images used on the game pages so that they load faster for those of us with slower connections. At least make this an option. I'm especially thinking of the control buttons on the RHS. Also, Netscape 4.5 seems to be no longer supported and that is disappointing. I don't like to be forced into using MSIE. :(

davidscottI have also tried playchess.de and redhotpawn.com. I tried playchess about a year ago and then tried again recently. Both times I have games interrupted because of server problems, not here. Redhotpawn does not offer tournaments and I like that part of ChessWorld.

droI could click on a few of the obove options given but since you only allow one I might aswell make some comment regarding the site. Yes, it is very addictive! Yes, we know that the webmaster puts in a lot (must be huge) of effort in this websit!!!! Yes, I am here virtually every day of my life. But, the main reason is that I hope my membership fee does go for the improvement and costs involved in this site. I really do think this the best of the web right now (regarding features and contents). It gives me a lot of pleasure that would otherwise be denied to me. Last but not least if there is anything I can do to help regarding the site (sorry I'm not a programmer) just let me know.

Decus TutamenThe poll would have been more reflective of me if I'd been able to check more than one choice. Chessworld is a great site, very addictive, and I'm enjoying playing opponents worldwide. I also appreciate the effort put in by the webmasters. I really like the speed of email - and the fact that (compared to the postal system) moves tend not to get lost. I played postal chess for 30 years, and ran ICCF tournaments for 6, but gave it all up due to pressure of work in the early 90's. Now retired, I spend a couple of hours each day on this site with my games. Its terrific value and great fun - and all those administrative chores involved in running tourneys and producing reports are all computerised. Congratulations on a fabulous job and best wishes for continued success.
