⚙️ Set Invitation Preferences
On ChessWorld, Full Members can customise the type of game invitations they receive using the Invitation Preferences tool. With over twenty configurable options, you’re always in control of the games you’re invited to play.
Why Set Invitation Preferences?
- Personal Control: Decide the type of games you want to play.
- Save Time: Avoid unwanted or unsuitable game invitations.
- Better Matches: Increase the chances of being invited to games you’ll genuinely enjoy.
- Mutual Benefit: Save potential opponents from wasting time sending inappropriate invites.
Options Available
- Time Limits: Select preferred game pace from 1–15 days per move.
- Rated or Unrated: Choose your preferred type of games.
- Coaching Games: Accept invites for unrated games specifically designed for coaching.
- Opponent Rating Range: Define upper or lower limits for your opponent’s rating.
- Opponent Experience: Filter based on whether an opponent’s rating is “established” (after 50 games).
- Opponent Play Style: Example: only accept invites from opponents who draw less than 10% of their games.
How to Access
To set your Invitation Preferences, visit My Stuff → My Email and click on the Invitation Preferences link next to the Game Invitation acceptance option.

No. This feature is exclusive to Full Members.
❓ Can I change my preferences later?
Yes. You can update your preferences at any time to reflect your current playing style and goals.
❓ What happens if I don’t set preferences?
You’ll still receive invitations using the default ChessWorld options, which may include games outside your desired criteria.
