The ChessWorld Play page

The play area can be configured via My Stuff ... My Interface. Features include different board styles, move logs, opening information links, chat, game stats, opponent info, tips, video previews, and notepads. Tabs and action buttons adapt based on game type.

Playing a game

Moves can be made via โ€œClick and Clickโ€ or โ€œDrag and Drop.โ€ Illegal moves trigger alerts. After confirming a move, it cannot be undone. Conditional moves allow pre-planning responses if enabled by both players.

Different styles of play

Options include individual games, tournaments, team play, and pyramids. Each has time limits (1โ€“15 days or 10 in 50). Tournaments award norms and titles, while pyramids allow climbing through challenges.

Joining or creating Tournaments

Members can join Knock Out or All-play-All tournaments (strength, class, or open). Creating tournaments allows customization of nickname, rules, time limits, and thematic openings.

Joining or creating Teams

Members can join existing teams or create new ones with a defined philosophy. Team captains recruit and manage their teams. Team games are competitive and league-based.

Creating a Game

Members can create up to 10 games, choose colors, time limits, rated/unrated status, and thematic openings.

Choosing an Opponent
