Although chess is a two-player game, ChessWorld.net makes it possible to play as part of a team. Teams create leagues, foster community, and add a collaborative dimension to online play. Below are answers to the most common questions about teams, captains, substitutions, and leagues.
Teams allow players to participate in leagues, much like real-life chess clubs. Teams are based on shared interests or affinities and compete against other teams in structured divisions.
Teams create camaraderie and provide the chance to play against likeminded players worldwide. Captains recruit players, assign boards, and lead their team to win titles.
Typically, stronger players are placed on higher boards. A rating of 0 means available for pairing; 90 indicates Reserve.
On the Team homepage, captains assign board numbers using input boxes next to player names, then click Adjust board order.

Each Team may have only one active member rated above 2500 at the start of play (except in the Champions League and Huge Teams League).
League Division board orders determine pairings in official matches. Friendly team challenges use “Team challenge” and “Team accept” board orders. Pairing logic ensures mismatched team sizes are handled fairly.
